Default Electra Glide, Full Face Helmets, and Rain

For those that don't want to read the rest, those with Electra Glides and full face helmets NON Bell helmets with lexan face shields what do you do about seeing when it rains? I used to be a serious peg dragger in the old days when everything was simpler and you just put Rain X on your face shield and the rain just blew right off. Well like they say go big or go home. I got my first Harley a 2015 Ultra Limited. For the first time I was caught in a medium heavy rain. Enough rain would get past the windshield but appears not enough wind to blow the rain off. I have a Scorpion Helmet with a Lexan face shield and believe that Rain X would not hurt the helmet face shield but not so sure it would do any good. I don't really want to go with a shorter bike windshield which I believe might help but I do like the envelope created by the 10.5 that I have on the bike already. So, in the end, what does everybody do to see in the rain?

RainX on the windshield and and on the helmet visor.

Works well for myself and my wife on a ride.
  • She wears a 3/4 and I wear a FF,
  • Her bike is a Dyna Switchback and mine is a RG Special.

Default Plexus

Buy some Plexus and spray it on your windshield and your face shield. Use a micro fiber rag to polish both. The water will bead up and roll away and it won't hurt either item.

I had heard that there are two different Rain X 's, the original and one safe for plastics. Is that still the case?

They should pay me for this. Nikwax visor proof. It is designed for this application. Have had the same bottle for a long time and use it regularly.
