Default Chemical guys products for denim paint

Anyone used the chemical guys products for the denim paints? The have a 3 part system - a wash, quick detailer and a sealant. The sealant is very expensive.

https://www.chemicalguys.com/Matte_P...Care_s/342.htm

I saw a post here were a guy used a Vivid product called "renew". I found it but it appeared to be a product for vinyl wrap.

I've just used the Harley spray and it's fine but I'm always looking for something better - and also it's be nice to get a sealant or similar on the bike.

I use the sealant. Nice stuff and bugs and such just wipe right off.

Gyeon Matte Ceramic

And I see nothing "expensive" on that Chemical guys web site.

The sealer is what? 9.99? Unless you and I are looking at different products.

I'm not a fan of Chemical Guys products in general. They used to be ok, I think, but then they started being sold at Walmart.

Warm soapy water and a soft sponge. Don’t over clean it. Best thing out there for Denim paint in my experience.

Denim is low maintenance. The only way to mess it up is to pay too much attention to it.

^ yeah that.

denim is supposed to 'wear in'. it isn't going to look brand new forever. pay too much attention to it and you'll end up with glossy spots. clean it and ride. low maintenance.

Yep. "Denim" is meant to wear. Some bits of it will get shiny - like the end of the tank from your legs rubbing on it, some won't. Kind of like an old pair of jeans.

The clue is in the name. It's meant to build a patina, not stay pristine.

Having said that, regular dish soap works well to clean it, HD's denim paint cleaner also works well, as do many other products. S100 make a very good matte wax if you want to go that route.

Wizards Matte Wipe Down. Soapy water first, wipe down with that when dry. Paint still looks brand new on my Crossbones.

I was looking at the first thing that says "detail spray and sealant" for 9.99.

Then I see the "sealant" only further down the page... NO WAY you would ever need the 16oz bottle. The 4oz bottle would be more than enough for a bike IMO. Maybe not for an Ultra Classic or the like, but for a standard 2 fenders and a tank, 4oz should be plenty.

I would wash, use an iron remover product, rinse, dry, wipe down with 99% alcohol, then apply the sealant.
