Default Wheel bearings?

Hey all, I am about to put a new front wheel on my bike. I am going to have to install the bearings myself and I'm wondering if there is a better brand of bearings out there than HD factory? I bought a nice bearing remove/install kit from ebay and have watched several videos so I feel confident I can install them no problem, just want the best! I want to make sure this is done the best way with best parts available so it will be done right the first and hopefully only time! Thanks for any input and comments about this! Merry Christmas...

I had front go out on a trip a year or two ago. Had to stop at Harley dealer so I assume I got the factory bearing. I did buy a replacement tool and a set of All Ball Bearings for the rear when I change that tire, so that is what i'll replace with. Hang loose, you will get a number of opinions here......

The last all-***** I bought had the clear grease (not the blue chevron) and it used a plastic cage. I didn't use them and bought the HD bearings at the dealer. Blue grease inside and metal cages.

Check the world web of real information.... All new HDs come with double roller ball, double seal wheel bearings rated for 100,000 miles of service.
However I always check them every time new tires are installed, safety first!

HD has been developing the practice of using less bearings inside the cage. Like transmission output bearings having plastic spacers between each ball or roller bearing. Timken has a good reputation. Don’t rush to HD thinking they have the best.

Do you have ABS brakes? You need to make sure you get the right bearings to detect rotation.
