Yes. They do a lot of good things. They fight to protect riders rights. Every rider should join their local Abate.

Seems like they lost at all the helmet laws.
I don't know HoW MANY meetings we went to in Olympia fighting it...mid 1970s

Then, lots of dumb **** people got to thinking it was biker club...
I disappeared.

Yes, every chapter may be a little different , but ABATE is something every rider should consider joining.

ABATE fought the helmet battle in PA and won big.

Was a good thing , can't say now been 30 years since I dealt with them. Like anything else there's ego's and aganda's to be aware of and each chapter will be different.

My experience with ABATE in Michigan was pretty negative, concerned motorcyclists being required to an extra $180.00 on insurance policies that we won't benefit/ or apply to us. After being redirected to some one else 4 times and not taking up the issue as an ABATE agenda, I just said screw it. I remind them at the major gatherings around here. Seems their concern was for removing helmet laws.

I think the $180 that senior is referring to is the MCCA that is applied to all insurance policy's.
Abate did not lobby for the MCCA, that was the insurance company's that pushed for that.

I’m at the 19-year member mark. Same with AMA. ABATE lobbies at our state capitol for rider issues.

I enjoy their rallies. Kansas and Iowa both put on a good show.
