I know a lot of people hate it, but I like the idea of Harley making e-bike machines to woo younger buyers. I think it would be awesome if these bikes were designed after the real early stuff, that were essentially motorized bicycles anyway. I commute by bicycle a lot, and I see more e-bikes on the trail everyday, and think Harley could own this market if they played there cards right.

I think this will end in a big fail for Harley Davidson.
They are leaving behind their core consumers to court millennials that don't have the disposable cash to buy a new bike.
Yes the baby boomers are getting older but the next 40 and 50 years old riders are coming up fast. And they don't want electric bikes.
They want big cruisers that scream look at me.
Harley needs to stick to what they do best.
I believe you will see a big downturn with shops closing and product lines being trimmed down.
Maybe we will see the end of the boutique shops and a re-emergence of the mom and pop shop.

I think they're on the right track manufacturing small bikes and EVs. I see their intent as demonstrating that they can indeed build modern products as good as the young generation, while maintaining their core consumer base.
