And how long ago was this occurence?

Sounds like a long time ago before fiberglass tanks with bladders....They started retrofitting that **** about 3+ decades ago.

Everything at my place is double-walled, double-piped etc... and it's 25 years old.

Luckily (knocking on wood) I've never had any issues, but I'm religious about changing dispenser filters and monitoring water levels, etc. in tanks.
You want another reason regarding ethanol?
Try this on for size-
State of Colorado conducted a study (about 20 years ago) regarding the efficacy of "farming for ethanol."
So , here goes...
It takes 1.25 acres of land,
And 4 gallons of diesel fuel,
And 680 gallons of water

To create 1 single gallon of ethyl alcohol (ethanol.)

So, (cross thread points) what is the cost of 4 gallons of offroad dieseline?
The cost of 680 gallons of water?
The "cost" of the land/labor/machinery?
Add all that up, I bet it's a lot more than $2.62.
(Hell the diesel alone would be $15 if it were in Calif.)
The water? Another $3.50.
So, (more cross thread points) does anyone here think the farm subsidy is a working deal for us taxpayers?
We probably have $25 in that gallon of ethanol, and we recover $2.62....

Really was asking if the 112 Octane will damage my pistons or not . I’ve been running 110 , but the supplier has sold out at this time . So I bought 112 Octane instead ..I’m sure with all these experts , someone has the answers . lol

I have a carbed bike and there is a big, noticeable, difference when I use regular gas vs non ethanol 90 octane. Better mileage, better throttle response, less valve noise.
That said, I'd think that a fuel injected, much more computer controlled timing system would make it much better to run the cheap stuff. I use the better stuff and I'm cheap!

I don’t know about the US but in Canada premium fuel at Chevrons and Shell have zero ethanol. I only use Chevron Premium in my bikes and power equipment. Ethanol is murder on parts and for a buck or two extra I’d rather not have the issues ethanol cause.
