Default Adjusting your LED headlight

Do you adjust your aftermarket LED headlight the same as the manual states to adjust the stock halogen? The last time I had the LED on the bike I adjusted it per the manual and people were flashing their lights at me like crazy. I may as well just adjust it by riding and tweaking it to MY liking. They are going to flash me anyway so I may as well adjust it to my exact preference. What say you?

What headlight do you have? Is it DOT? Does it have a nice line orbisbut a glaring scattering of light?

Because it is always good to blind incoming drivers so they cannot judge your speed or distance.

A properly aligned LED will appear brighter than a properly aligned halogen to oncoming vehicles. It's a main reason to get them, they're brighter! Some oncoming just see a bright headlight and assume your high-beam must be on, but that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your alignment.

Glad you're not overly dramatic.

Before I changed mine out, I adjusted the OE halogen by the book. When I installed the new Custom Dynamics TruBeam, the cutoff was in the exact same spot as the OE halogen, so I left it alone. So far, no oncoming vehicle has flashed their highbeams at me.

I replaced the OE halogen headlamp with the CD TrueBEAM lamp, and did not need to adjust the position of the lamp.

It is a LOT brighter, though.

What is this "manual" you speak of?

I just adjust it to where I can see best. I don't get flashed.

I will say I adjust the beam slightly right to avoid blinding oncoming traffic as well as give me a little more light on the side of the road for deer.
