To those that don't like the highway. Why?
Several have said they avoid the highway whenever possible. Why is this? I love geting up on the highway setting my throttle lock at 75 and kickin' back. I feel much safertoo. No intersections. Less ofa chance of someone braking hard in front of you. Generally more space between vechicles. Wider lanes. Do those that avoid thehighway not like the speed? It is boring for you? Too straight? Nothing to see? What is it?

Pretty much what you said, Ken. I prefer to 'manage' the bike. The highway doesn't allow that. Granted, it's the fastest way to get somewhere, but that doesn't mean it's the best for me!

Around here the highways are crap and dangerous. Missing lane lines, confusing lines, potholes that haven't been repared in years, grading lines 1" deap, and so on.
Over all the highways just suck in Cal.

I ride without a windsheild and find the interstate too windy/choppy. I also find it boring, [/align]

I like country highways, not real high on busy state highways. In the country you still have to be extra carefull of blond deer with cell phones though.

Old Forester wants a canopy overhead. There is nothing like riding under a heavy canopy with spanish moss hanging down. Nothing, well nothing except downhill on fresh powder, or flipping an Extra 300, or diving Looe Key, or feeling her "take a bone in her mouth" on a beam reach... OK, I'm back in control of myself.
Nothing wrong with the slab when the traffic permits. Around here, that happens for a couple of hours around 2 a.m.
