CA is a fun state to visit and ride in but a bitch to live with.

Like dating a supermodel I suspect. Expensive too.

If your on a road trip, try taking your out of state bike, with aftermarket exhaust, in for a oil change Service in Cali...not gonna happen.
I can't remember how much the fine is for the dealership if your bike is caught there...

No doubt a lot of smuggling of clandestine parts is crossing the California border from NV and AZ.

I also live in California in San Diego. I have ordered several part over the years from vendors and haven't had a problem. Most say we love shipping there just to **** off all the tree huggers.

There wasnt a problem with shipping to California "over the years".
This is a relatively recent EPA crackdown on shipping "off-road racing use only" parts to Ca.
The diesel pickup tuner and delete market is shutdown nationwide.
You need black market connections if you want to delete your pickup truck.

Harley 120R engines are built in California and then shipped to Milwaukee. Trying to get one back across the border is an interesting odyssey. Yes, you can still get a dyno tune but most shops have you sign one of those waivers that the bike is only used for off-road racing. There sure are a lot of Harley race bikes in California.

I haven't had much trouble getting stuff for my 2006 Deluxe, but there's certain stuff I can't get for my 2014 Triumph.

Seems there might be a model year "threshold." I don't know for sure. Never concerned enough to research it

Not just parts, but also paint. I needed the HD silver to paint the cylinders on my 49 EL.Wasn't able to find it or order it fro an out-of-state vendor and have it shipped here. Had my niece (lives out of state) get it for me and send it with my shipping and return address on it. That way if it got opened along the way they would only be able to chase me down.

Man.....we do a metric crap ton of business in CA. We sell hearth, fireplace, and wood stove products as well as outdoor heating and fire accents. As well, a handful of our key vendors are from CA. We had to figure out how to make it happen. The folks there are worth it and their federal reserve notes are just as green as the rest of the country.

The only state in the union that is more restrictive, in our industry, is Mass. They have their own extremely draconian gas code rather than mirror international building code.
