I run PA on the front of both of my bikes and did on my previous 2017 CVO Limited as well.

I just have one simple requirement that is hard to find. I need a quick and simple preload adjustment. I constantly change from solo, solo with luggage, two up, two up with luggage. Compound that load by whether we're hoteling or have camping gear. Every ride is different. I just want to quickly dial it in and go for that particular ride. Harley stock offers a quick adjustment, but it's stock. Wilburs has the self adjusting preload, but expensive. Others offer quick adjustment, but you still have to measure. I want a dial with numbers or Gauge and a cross reference chart so I can set it for the load and go. Or have it auto level, mechanically or electronically, like other brands. I can't be the only one with these dynamic needs.

Its really not that hard to mark the preload collar and count the turns.
From loaded to unloaded.

I never touch ours. Solo, two up, loaded on trips. The PA heavy design and valving is exceptional.

I would not be happy with suspension I had to constantly adjust.

Call George at PA and have him explain how that is possible.

I keep the same PA adjustment on my trike. No need to change

thats one of the things i love about my wing i wish my hd did too. Typically i like them because of the differences, but the electronic preload adjuster with memory settings is one thing i for sure wish the hd had.

Im in the same camp as Cosmic. If you're riding a touring bike, chances are you can adjust the rear suspension for riding 2 up and, without adjusting it, still end up with a better ride solo than you ever could with the stock suspension adjusting back and forth.

I know that. I'm talking about removing the bags and turning the collars for just about every ride. It's still an inconvenience, hence why Wilburs Nivomat exists and other manufacturers have electronically-adjustable suspensions. I really doubt many riders constantly manually adjust their preload for differing weights. Most people are lazy and just run one middle-of-the road setting that covers most of their riding loads.

The majority of riders probably never ride under differeing load conditions, they mainly ride solo or locally without any load changes. That's why there isn't enough demand for suspension manufacturers to make quick/easily-adjustable preload suspensions, because there's no ROI in the expense of developing such a system. The numbers aren't there.

Only time I am “adjusting” my rear suspension is when road-tripping w/ a full load - 2-up, all three bags packed and a rack bag installed.

For me that’s once a year, other than that, there’s a happy medium for my solo commuting and the occasional “date night”.
