It's too expensive to not get every drop.
I also look at this as the bottle will be cleaner during the recycling process if I get the last drop. Maybe!
Note: I do not like watching paint dry.

I use a total loss technique. On the transmission, I carefully tip the oil container ( can't say can anymore) and let if flow gently.
I go for lunch and come back only to notice that I forgot to put the drain plug back in...

My municipality considers empty oil containers non-recyclable and hazardous.

Non-recyclable because they pose a risk, but safe for trash... Got it.
