It would work as long as you are jumping motorcycle battery to motorcycle battery.

Agree,.... it can't hump enough juice through for jumping anyway and would probably blow out/burn to the waterline.

I doubt it. You could use a light gauge wire to trickle charge from battery to battery, but that would take a while if the stranded bike was totally dead. If the stranded bike were totally dead, though a trickle charge would be useful. You could do the trickle to get enough juice to power the ECM and injectors, then push start the bike.

J&P sells a set of motorcycle jumper cables for 12.99. and I will just get them instead of rigging something. I was stranded the other day and I used a set of car jumper cables for my bike......I used another harley for the jump. it worked just fine...whew!

I dont think I would go any thiner than like 10ga. or so. About the thickness of one of those el cheepo jumper cable sets you see at the $1 store. In fact shortned, and with a better set of terminal clamps, and you wouldnt have a half bad set of jumper cables....as long as the strand count of the wire it self is high enough to allow for flexability.

My battery tender uses a 10 amp fuse, if you use it as a jumper, when you hit the starter it will blow the fuse. A starter has more than a 10amp draw when engaged.

Look at the starter and the larger cable going to that is at a minimum size wire cable you need to actually jump the bike. Reason I say mimimum is the longer the wire the larger it has to be. Whats on the starter only goes to the battery from the starter and that is not more thena foot or so.

Go with a larger wire forboth the positive and negative wires ofactual jumper cablesan you will be fine.

You can clip the ground to any bare metal spot on the frame, anduse the positive going to the starter as"B+ " then you won't have to take off the seat to get to the battery.
