Default Insurance-Road Glide

My insurance is up for renewal and thought I'd check and see what the average premium was for a 2008 RG. I have mine currently with Foremost, but I think they're out of line with pricing. $1,567/year with $1,000 deductable. The premium also includes my 2003 Covington Chopper that I set the Actual Cash Value at 25K just to keep last year's premium down.

Any answers here aren't going to help you much. You could have your next door neighbor with the same two exact bikes, same credit score, same salary, same everything, and still have completely different rates! You're better off just getting several quotes from various insurance companies and figuring out what the best rate yourself; any answers from any of us won't really help you all that much.

Dang, that's alot for bike insurance! I'm just a state over from you (Ohio) and not even close to paying that much. You must be very young or have had some accidents in the past. My bike insurance, homeowners and car insurance combined won't top yours...

Shop around..

Right. Michigan has the Midhigan Catastropic Claims Association fee on every policy which is about $125 per year. So you really can't compare my rates with yours. I have an '06 RK and I'm paying about $350 per year with progressive. I'm 56 years old and have an excellent credit score. Credit ratings are now the biggest factor in insurance rates. Where the bike is garaged, rate zone, also is a big factor. Driving record and claims history alsow affects the rates. The best thing to do is shop. I have Progressive and have found their rates reasonable.

I'm 45, great credit and zero accidents/claims. I'll get some bids. Thanks for the input.
