I grew up in Western Pennsylvania, although I'm in Southern California now. When I had my first bike, back in the early 70's, some of my friends and I used to take them to drive-in movies. We would bring a blanket and sit next to our bikes and the speakers and essentially have a drive-in picnic. And the fact that it attracted girls sure helped.

Now I can't even find a drive-in at all anymore. Most of you are probably even wondering what the hell I'm talking about.

Any drive-in left? And if so, any of them bike friendly?

 

There are still a few in the Middle Tennessee/ Southern Kentucly area-
They no longer provide speakers- they broadcast over the radio.

 

I think Iowa has a couple left. I had a 1967 Pontiac Bonneville, 5 get in for the price of one.

 

We have one here in Belleville, IL. The last movie i saw at a drive-in was Beverly Hills Cop. I'm 29 so i've only been to a couple.

 

Used to go as a kid.&nbsp\\; My mom would pop a grocery sack full of popcorn and my dad would throw the water can in the car and off we'd go.&nbsp\\; Pretty cheap entertainment.&nbsp\\; In high school, drive ins would be a pretty cheap date and a great place to make out.

Actually, out here in Hooterville, they built a new one last year with two screens and they are now adding another screen.

 

One here in Michigan is a temporary screen put up in a parking lot and also broadcasts over the car stereo.&nbsp\\; Screen is removed in the fall.

 

There's one in Colorado outside of Denver. They were talking about closing it but I've seen it running up until last year. havent been down that way this year. You can also bring in canned beer!

Whereabouts in Western PA, Dyna_Soar?&nbsp\\; That's where I grew up...and I remember the drive-ins well.&nbsp\\; Perhaps we frequented some of the same ones...

 

Have one 15 miles from the house,2 screens with 2 movies a night on each,never took the bike.Take the truck,lawn chair's and ice chest in the back and a sack of munchies!!...nice night out on a hot summer night!!
