Default Is this normal?

So I am rolling my bike around the garage with the engine off and it seems to be unusually hard to push for some reason. It is almost like when you have the handbrake on a car engaged. I am using the handlebars and holding the clutch in as it is in gear.

As soon as I actually put it in neutral it becomes a whole lot easier to push.

So shouldnt holding in the clutch in disengage the drive train and effectively make it the same as if it was in neutral?

It does on my other bike which is a sport bike. This is a 2 week old 08 Street Bob in case it makes a difference. Is the clutch not adjusted correctly?

When the engine is running it seems fine.

Every Harley I've had or pushed did that with it in gear. Out of gear easier. It must be normal because it does it to me.

Rejoice in the fact you have a 'new' one. HDs have always been like this, except worse, in the past. The ol' 3 and 5 stud hubs, will actually drag you along with the clutch pulled in. Been going on since B4 all our times. There are many aftermarket fixes for it and is a regular issue. But the fact remains, you are sensing what we have all sensed since day one.
Welcome, and RIDE ON, Garth!!!

Perfectly normal, I believe it has to do with parking in gear and letting it cool down, the friction plates are dragging, even though the clutch lever is pulled.

Ditto, Keep it in neutral to roll it easier.

I don't have a technical explanation for why, but the same thing happens to me. I vote - normal.

Well at least it seems to be normal so thats good.

I am still curious as to why though. The cooling down in gear theory will be easy to test next time - if I remember.
