My kid got an Ipod and Itune cards for his b-day. Dad needs some help on how-to download from Itunes to the Ipod. Is there any easy way to do this that he can download from my house and from his moms? Like a share account?

You have to download the iTunes software from the Apple website onto the computer. When you buy the songs from the iTunes store they end up on your computer in iTunes. You can also load your own music from CDs into it as well. Once you plug the iPod into the computer, there's a period where it states "iPod is syncing, do not disconnect." At this time all the songs are being transferred that aren't already on the iPod. As far as a shared account goes, as long as he's the only one with the iPod, he can download iTunes on the other computer and have the music there as well.

 

+1 to Jason. When you set it up you can either ID payment with an iTunes card or maybe Dad's credit card. If you use your credit card it stays on record and each purchase he makes will automatically go to tht credit card. It will promt you to confirm each purchase....

 

The post above is correct. Music files can only be downloaded to a PC/Mac with iTunes. It's Apple's way of keeping users captive. I miss the days of free MP3 downloads.

 

I thought the iPod synched to one library only?

 

You don't have to have it auto sync, you can drag & drop the music you want onto the iPod. You can also sync to multiple computers.

 

Can you give me some more detail on "How To" on this? I would love to be able to drag and drop this thing...lol It keeps saying that the Ipod is not sync to my computer???

yes, just check the "manually manage music" checkbox. Once you've done this you can drag and drop tunes from your library to the ipod.
