I have a 2008 FXDL and am wanting to put the wires inside the handle bars but hate to spend the money for new (drilled) bars. Has anyone out there drilled their stock bars and routed the wires through them? I think it could be done, I am just wondering if anyone else has tried this and how it worked.

You can, but it really weakens the bars and could fail (bend). I would not recommend it, but it has been done.
