Default Club Vests/Jackets??????

The guy who posted the thread asking about prospecting for a club reminded me of a question I wanted to ask....so here go's...............

What is the deal with club Vests/Jackets??? I was talking to some guys at a bar a few weeks ago...and they where wearing some club name on their backs.....and they where carrying on about not being able to just make up your own club with your friends and putting your town and club name on the jacket without offending so called "real" biker clubs? Saying you could get hurt and what not??? Is this true? I am by no means some tuff biker gang dude lol....just wanted to know if there is any truth to this is all.

I think this little tid bit sums it up pretty good why they cant allow just anyone to wear a patch...now I understand...thank you.

"There was this local brand specific club ... the Airfoil Ridin' Fools (hopefully there ain't no such group <BG>) ... well the ARF boys have on all their weekend riding "biker atire" and go to a local tourist area, where they get a little loaded and start insulting tourists on the street ... then they ended up causing a ruckus at a local bar.
Well the local business folks, local citizens, and the tourist don't know ARF from a 1% club ... but the locals do know there is a bunch of local 1% folks they don't particularly like anyway ... so they point fingers at the 1%rs. The local cops know it was not the 1%rs, but they know the people involved are really a bunch of rubs and such from a nearby town, that will just cause them grief if they try to press anything from a legal angle ... and the city council is demanding the cops "do something", so they have the perfect solution: make the local citizens and the city council happy by rousting a few 1%rs ... and by promising the 1%rs that it will happen anytime and every time the LEOs get any heat about patch wearing "biker gangs", they sort of set the stage to make sure the 1%rs are responsible for policing anyone in the area wearing a patch unless the local 1%rs want to answer for the actions of others.
These are real events, similar things happen all over the US and the world. That is the reality, anyone with a patch can cause any local group with any kind of patch to be a target for their actions, and the cops in general will target those who give them the most buck for a bang (no I did not mean bang for a buck ... this is about money ... you can get federal funds for helping "round up" 1%rs that are classified as "gangs" by the federal powers that be, there ain't no money in rounding up a bunch of obnoxious ARF or wanna-bes)."

uh oh...i see a rub thread coming...take cover

but to answer your ques, if you have a rocker style patch you are fur sure screwed in my neck of the woods. Hell, I was wearing a t-shirt from a bar in chicago that somewhat resembled a rocker on the back and got questioned about it. Best to just stay away from club patches unless you belong to one of the two categories: MC or yellow sashes.

If you want to start a cub you need to go to a coalition meeting and present your plan to them. The meetign will be run by thr local dominant club. You will have a draft of your constitution, art work showing your proposed colors and other things deemed as a requirement. At the meeting you will have the officers of your interest group and go in very humble. They will ask you questions to make sure that you are not trying to take over someone's territory and will grant you their blessing as long as you aren't ******. You can get a bottom rocker in a territory that already has a club as long as they all know you aren't there to start a war.

Note: There was a club that didn't do this in California, ended up starting a bunch of trouble and well, you know the rest...
