CA wrote the helmet about 20 years ago. We don't need no stinkin' new laws from big brother protecting us from ourselves and we do not need any 20 year old laws ammended for that cause either.
Let those who ride decide. I have a "novelty", DOT half (pictured below), and a FF helmet and wear which ever I choose depending on the ride and conditions. Heck, when I cross state lines into AZ/UT, I will ride with no helmet when I feel like it.
It is nice to see that we may be able to at least ride with our novelty helmets, if we "choose" to wear them, and not be worried about getting hassled by law enforcement.

The beanie is getting a new coat of paint, and already has the dreaded DOT sticker on it. I think my carbon fiber DOT is probably more comfortable. We will see after this weekend.

Not such a problem for us but if we leave I will make at least $50,000 less doing what I do...we are considering the DFW area though...gotta do what you gotta do to feed the family and if the construction industry doesn't get goign again in Cali, we are gone...

For me it's the other way around. The Beanie is much more comfortable than the Carbon Fiber helmet.

You should have watched a little closer,or done your homework. The Colorado Helmet law frome '69 to '77 was introduced by Ruth Stockton a Lakewood Republican. The repeal in '77 was introduced by Ray Kogovsek a Democrat. A Texan Repbulican buddy of Dubya Bush tried to reinstate it in '83 he was Republican Bill Owens Aurora, later governor. I had more than a little to do with the repeal in '77 and had more trouble with Republican legislators than Dems. The Key is to not polarize the issue. We worked with both parties and got it repealed and defeated new bills in a bi partisan fashion. Support the issue not the party. By the way ABATE of Colorado had NOTHING to so with the repeal, though they claim to. May 27th will mark 32 years of freedom.
