Trailer Question
I have a 4X8 flat bed trailer I would like to modify. It is painted black with chrome diamond plate decking, looks real cool. The problem is the tong length is short making it difficult to see while trailering. I would like to install a 2’ longer tong. Also, I would like to extend the rear of the trailer 2 additional feet to protect the bike in the event someone would get to close. I’ve been told that I would need to have the trailer re-balanced and possible relocate the axle. Is it worth these mods or should I sell it and get another trailer. Your thoughts?
Used utility trailers are cheap, you could probably sell yours for very close to the price of another used one the right size, and avoid the trouble and cost of converting yours.
