A ride all the way to the top!
Today was one of those days. Some days you ride to commute, or the route you take is well known to you and it's a ride but a sterile one at best. Then you have a day when all the twisties are new and you aren't quite sure what's up a head and the adrenalin flows.
I left the house at about 10:30 this morning an headed North on Highway 9 up to Deming Washington. My buddy met me at the Nooksack Casino and after a very filling we lunch we headed east on Mount Baker Highway in search of the top. It was in the 70's by the time we got underway and it was just T-Shirts for the afternoon. I had Zep roaring through my earphones, but could still hear the roar of the pipes. Halfway up we came upon a couple from BC Canada riding a real nice Heritage, and after several miles they pulled off and let us go by. We had no one to the rear, and no one to front the whole way up. The road to Mount Baker is a basket full of twisties and a handful or so of some 15 mph 90 degree cut backs. So nice to get that apex and pour it on. My buddy fell back on me a few times. He later mentioned that he couldn't follow me through the corners and he thought he was going to drag his pipes. I have a bad habit of sometimes riding my RK like a GSXR! Hehehe!!! Old Cafe Racers never die......they just grow old, and buy Harley's!
We got to the top and I snapped some shots! Don't let the snow fool ya! It's 70's where my buddy Jimmy is standing!
Gonna be a great Summer!

Mt Baker
Yes, been there and done that several times. Excellent ride I have some pics too from the summer of 08 mid July. You can go all the way up to Artist Point. You feel like your on top fo the world. Ahh the great northwest. We may get a lot of rain in the fall, winter and spring but the summers make up for it. Wouldn't have it any other way.
