Sun screen and your face.
I was wondering does anyone wear a bandana or something to cover your nose and mouth?
Sun screen lip balm don't seem to help.
I worry about skin cancer and my lips falling off.
We are planning a 3 week ride out west next year I can only imagine how bad they will get.
Any ideas?
The sun screen on the face works fine and i care a small bottle on the bike key is on very sunny days is to reaply cpl times if your riding all day. As for the lips i use the lip balm with sun screen key there is also put it on at each stop you take and you will be good. the reg sun screen i if iam riding from sun up to sun down i will maybe reaply twice once around lunch and once around 4 or 5pm and iam good to go.
Some will laugh but i laugh at lot guys that ride with me when i see them the next day and there in pain and red as fire from not using it.
Also got a good friend whos lady just had surgery on her nose from skin cancer do to all the time in the sun from riding over the years and no protection.

There is a spray-on sports type which is really good for touch-up during the day on places hard to reach. Get the one that is a continous spray, rather than the pump. Be VERY careful how you pack it though. I discharged a full can in my tourpak first day out last year and it stained everything in there. (smelled good though
) And the UV protection factor has been increased dramatically over the years. I recommend no less than 30, or even go 70 - 80 for your nose, face, neck and arms. In all cases, get the waterproof kind. Put it on BEFORE you start riding and if it's going to be a long day, repeat at least once.
I have a heavy beard, so I haven't investigated protection for my lips. No matter how you feel about it, or the hard time your riding buddies might give you, sun-poision is not to be taken lightly. If you're fair skinned like me, forget all that macho-crap and take care of your skin.
