On the interview this morning with the guy that was injured...

Dirt bikes on a private unpaved road. He lives on this private road along with the suspects.

He was headed back from a ride in the hills.

He says it was a length of rebar that he was hit with, not a rope.

The neighbors that did it said "We're gonna get you. Just you wait. We'll lynch you!"

He is OK now, with 500 stitches and 5 titanium plates in his jaw.

Now, his dirbike was stolen the day he got home...

The saga continues.

Now the story gets interesting. As somebody who lives on a private unpaved road, where the road is strictly maintained by the residents, where we have had problems with non-residents on all terrain vehicles of all flavors, I can sympathize with the lynchers. After gritting our teeth and bearing it for twenty years, we all finally decided we have had enough of trespassers destroying our road and using it to cut through. In the past year we have posted signs and turned everybody around who ventures this way. Including getting police involved with the ATV'ers and having near altercations.

While I don't agree with what they did and believe they should be punished for it, I do understand why they did it. It's a little different with the offender being a resident as well.

There is no excuse for what they did. None! I hope they end up losing their houses to the rider in a lawsuit.

ORIGINAL: Rhubarb

wow, I'm never going back to Los Gatos.

That's pretty scary to think people would do that.

They should have their addresses posted in the paper so everyone can pay them a visit.[:@]
