Got back last week from...
... the mountains. We had a great time riding Cherohala, Blue Ridge, Tail of the Dragon, Hellbender, etc.
Near Deals Gap, we met Scott Maddux, owner of Smoky Mountain H-D, who was riding with H-D's Chief Marketing Officer Mark-Hans Richer. Both great guys. Scott gave us free passes to attend a concert he was holding at The Shed, which is located at his Marysville, TN dealership. Later we went to big Daddy's and witnessed a dance floor clearing fight - good times!
Saw only one bike being pulled from the bushes at Hellbender. I heard a couple went down before we went up the Dragon. No injuries reported that I know of. I took my slow-a$4 up once the traffic died-down, I actually enjoyed my 318 curves in 11.5 miles... plenty of LEO's were on hand to keep things sane.
SR180 in north Georgia is a great ride (beware of the tar snakes though).
It was my first time on Cherohala and it was a nice, rolling country road through the mountains. The Blue Ridge Parkway speaks for itself.
I'm fortunate to live relatively close to the Smokeys and Appalachian mountains. Because of this, I logged just over 1,000 miles, but a great 1k it was!
