Default Electric Fuel Pump?

I'm building a Harley powered roadster using a Twin Cam B. Obviously the fuel tank is located below the engine so I purchased an electric fuel pump to put up near the gas tank. The fuel pump is rated for something on the order of 4-6 psi. My question is, will the carburetor float be able to shut of the fuel flow? I was already to mount the puel pump when the light went on, thought I better ask.

thanks

Thanks! I kind of thought so, but wanted to make sure. By the way, the picture is how the project stands now, just the basic steel structure. I will fabricate the composite body further along in the project. Thanks again for the reply.
