Default Front Brakes...Who uses them?

Just curious...Do you use your front brakes? I work at a motorcycle shop and I can't believe it when I over hear some one telling a new rider to not use their front brakes because they will cause you to wreck...When servicing bikes I notice a lot of rear break pads worn out with the front pads still looking new...Makes me think a lot of people don't use their front brakes...I use my front more than I use the rear brakes.

The question is how often do you use your rear brakes? Front brakes are a given. I'll leave it a that.

Front brakes..... first then rear if you really need em! Riding two up I use rear for extra stopping power.

Should be doing at least 75% of the braking. Thinking these dummies ought to be taking a motorcycle riding course.

About the only time I don't use mine is when I'm barely moving. Other than that, I always give 'em a squeeze. I have a co-worker who has told me I shouldn't use them because I'll end up going over the handlebars someday...and I ride a Road Glide. Yeah right!

I use both brakes. I know people who only use the front brake 'cause they were taught that is wheer the stopping power is.
I do warn new riders about using only the front brake on loose gravel or slippery roads because many people put their feet out/down as they approach stop signs, around here there is loose gravel at most intersections. Using only the front brake can cause problems.

I try to stay away from the front brake when moving slow, especially in parking lots. Motorman (Ride Like A Pro video) taught me that. Friction zone and all that. Otherwise front brake gets lots of use on the highway. Most of your stopping power is in the front brake. I'm not going over the handlebars cuz I hold on tight.
