The One Time I Am GLAD I Didn't Ride My Bike to Work
I almost always ride my bike to work every day. But this morning I had to be there 90 minutes early, and it was just too cold and dark out, so I jumped in my truck and cranked the heater on the way to work.
Well tonight, as I headed home, about a block from the office, this 18 year old idiot decides to make a left-hand turn right in front of me. I slammed on the brakes as fast as possible, but still ended up clipping him on his rear bumper. Kinda like a pit maneuver, he spun out. Fortunately, VERY LITTLE damage to my truck. Just some paint transfer on the bumper.
I got out and was like WTH were you thinking, you idiot!!! He said, oh I was reading something and didn't mean to go.
Needless to say, I gave him a little piece of my mind and explained that had I been on my bike, he could easily have taken me out.
So yeah, I'm kinda glad I wasn't on my bike tonight. But then again, I keep asking myself what would have happened if I was riding it? Could the bike have stopped shorter than the F150?? IDK.

If you road you bike most likely you would not be in the same spot at the same moment. but I get the gest. WTF was he reading any ways text messages or newspaper.

2ND THAT! You would have been riding much faster than you drive, which would mean you probably would have all ready passed that spot and possibly would have been at home. Before the FOOL turned left in front of you!

Glad to hear it was really nothing more than a paint transfer. Hope the kid learned a valuable lesson.

The outcome of any event can be determined by 1 second or less, no point in even thinking about it. Had you been 1 second earlier to the scene, he would have plowed into the side of your truck. One second later and you would have had enough time to miss him all together.
But these events will re-introduce caution back into your riding (as it should be).
