I heard a noise while riding, that sounded like something hitting my heat Shields. It wasn't from the engine because it would do it a couple times after I let off the gas and coasted. Could it be heat expansion from the pipes making the Shields ping? Has anyone else had this happen. I removed my Revtech DFO to take the bike in for a short problem (Warranty) which they could not find. I'm thinking the engine is running hot making the exhaust snap crackle and pop.

 

My V&H radius pipes always make that expansion noise, but when cooling down

 

It could be your heat shields rattling. Seems to be tight when cool but the clamps expand just enough when hot to create a rattle. try tightening the shield clamps when hot.
