I have a '14 SG. less then 300 miles on it. I hear a rattling noise in the front of the engine at about 2800RPM when riding. No rattling when parked in neutral and revved.. Normal noise??

 

Realizing it's under warranty, but have you checked for any loose hardware or loose heat shields?

 

Oh yeah. Everything is tight..

 

No rattle here that I've noticed, best bet is to have the dealer check it out to be sure.

 

Unless it gets seriously worse, I would just run it till you bring it in for your 1000 mile service. You may figure out what it is by then or it may go away. You may also find other stuff that will need to be repaired under warranty. This saves you several trips to the dealership for everything you find. I had a rattle in my fairing vent at about 2500 RPM waited till my 1000 mile and they replaced the vent. I know a 20K+ bike shouldn't rattle but every now and then some develop some quirks.

 

Shift down..These new bikes like a few more RPM's.

It's the 2800 rpm rattle.

 

Is it a rattle or a pinging type of rattle, some guys have reported their bikes pinging right from the start? You def want to keep the RPMs up and dont bog the engine.
