Default Seat advice for FLHTCU

Hey all, back on the seat issue. Paramount Harley in Framingham MA is giving 15% on new seats. I have a FLHTCU with the detach tour pak. Was looking at the Badlands seat, looks cool but some of you said your *** will hurt after 100 miles, which is not far on a Ultra. The seat on there now looks life the livingroom sofa when the tour pak is off. Any other styles that Harley has that you guys have used for the cool look with some comfort. The web site I have looked at but has anyone got one of these or any other makes? Thanks.

I don't know what year model you have but there are a lot of complaints with the '09/'10 model Ultra's. H-D has a new touring seat available to replace the stock seat that's suppose to be 1-1/2" lower and not as wide. I think it came out for the '10 models but it will fit an '09 also. I just got my '09 and very likely will be changing the seat also.

Just had my stock seat done at Mean City Cycles . Only a couple of hundred miles so far because of the snow but love it.

Mean City Cycles also, don't blow off looking
at them. I HIGHLY recommend talking to
Allen and they guys, great customer skills
and they will talk you through any mods you
might be considering. I did double memory
foam and grey ostrich inlaid along with seat
heaters. The best thing hands down I have
done to my bike.

I have a 2010 Ultra with the early design seat,I don't think I'll spend money to buy the seat that should be on to start with.I'm Thinking maybe a hammock seat or Mean City Cycles.Leaning toward MCC right now I hear good things about them.

One of the immediate changes on the FLHTK prior to picking it up in April is going to be the seat. The dealer has informed me that a new seat is now part of a running change at the factory, but he did not know what that change might be. Unfortunaltely our bike is already here, so it still has the original style seat.
My better half finds that the bolster behind the rider really presses into her thighs when she sits on the buddy seat, she already suspects it will not be a comfortable ride.
So presently leaning towards a Hammock, hoping the dealer will come to the table on this. Tried a fellow rider's Hammock seat last fall on his bike ('09 Ultra), he really likes it, even on long rides. We sat on it, it felt really comfortable to my spouse.
Present bike has a Mustang seat, it has been excellent for me, even on 12 hour days, and she loves the buddy seat as well.
Hope we get lots of input on this tread, as the seat is what makes for much happier long rides, especially if you're doubling.

I had MCC do what they call "The momma happy package"
when they reworked my Ultra seat, double memory foam
widened the rear 4" and added the deluxe seat heater also,
needless to say MOMMA HAPPY.

Check out C&C Customs. They offer EXCELLENT customer service and they'll create a seat that is as comfy and durable as it is unique. Lots of Forum members have their saddles. Worth checking out.
