Default Controversial Poll

This is not meant to be controversial or get into an emotional tizzy over but since Harley has just come off another losing quarter and is in the financial papers again we need to do a survey for them that they can’t do!
55 million dollar loss for 09 and off 27% for total bike sales it is obvious Harley is going to have to do something to either cost or increase revenue! The common fix for most corporations is to outsource! I don’t feel it would be a good fit for Harley and I hope we can keep those assemble jobs here in the U.S. A little unofficial poll for Harley’s benefit may be helpful when it comes down to the decision to outsource the assembly as well as some of the parts as they are already doing!
Would you buy a Harley that is assembled outside the U.S. by non U.S. Workers? Yes or No

Truth be told, most all of the parts that are assembled in the US are made in other countries, the assembly labor is the only thing they have left to outsource.

I'm finished buying new motorcycles. If this one gets wrecked I'll buy used.

I won't be a Harley that is assembled outside of the U.S.A. The MoCo has been getting outsourced parts for years, including the Brembo brakes that are now on the new touring bikes. However, the frames, motors, sheet metal, etc. are made here, and that is what makes a Harley a Harley!

Can we vote on this while we're all using our foreign computers?

Just wondering...

Default American Made

I'm going to weigh in on my own poll, I have owned a few Harley's after coming off of metrics. I have bought two New Harleys, a 2003 Electra Glide and a 2010 Tri Glide. I knew that some parts were outsorced but the decision to buy the Harley was based on the American workers that needed that assembly job.

I will not buy another Harley or supprt the brand to my friends if they take the assembly oversea's.

I believe at least the Engine and Transmisson should be made in the U.S. because of quality control issues but will absolutely draw the line concerning the assembly of Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

I for one would not buy another new Harley if they did the major outsourceing. I would continue to ride Harley's but never buy a new one again, not that i think i will anyway.
