Default Virginia Snow Again Today!

Did they really meet to have the Olympics in Virgina? If we only knew what this year would be like, we could have made a bid on it!
I think we have more snow, that or we could export our snow to Vancouver!

I'm in DC....30 inches over the weekend, most of the streets are barely plowed....oh and supposed to start snowing again today and deliver another 8-16 inches..... this area does not have the infrastructure to deal with this much snow.

I'm living an Richmond and this is just pathetic. I moved from Chicago to get away from crappy winters and its worse here than in Illinois. I can't win.

And for the most part you did get away from it. One thing you should notice is the lack of extremely cold and gusty winds. This year is very unusual. Last year I rode pretty much all year, this year December and January no dice. If you don't like Virginia weather, just wait it will change.

Yep, we gotten nearly 40 inches in my part this season, with several more forecasted this week. I had to drive to Richmond yesterday to pickup my new work vehicle. I was surprised to see the shape that 64 was in. I went thru about 30 miles of downed trees that had once crossed the roadway.

They look like the medieval wood spears driven into the ground to impale attackers.
VDOT isn't clearing these tress up like they used too. They trim them just enough to get them out of the roadway. To me that's very dangerous, all it takes is a bike or a car to run off the road and into one of these...........

Welcome to my world, we have received over 50" so far this year and most of it is still here. March is our heaviest snow month so we could easly end up with over 5 feet of snow when it finally quits. Will make for a lot of flooding when it finally warms up.
