To keep the black wringle finish looking like new i just brush it over with engine oil and wipe off the surplus, keeps it looking good and black for months, although s100 is probably better to spray on the jugs.

Soaking, working in with a brush, etc. Nothing would remove it. Some stuff would temporarily make it go away but then it comes back after a ride. I am looking forward to trying "Pig Spit" (if I can catch one and get him to spit), Pledge and Silicon Spray. Hopefully I will have luck with one of those. Thanks
p.s. the wax I can't get off is either Harley Glaze or Harley Chrome Cleaner.
Works much better if you feed the pig some peanut butter right before you make it spit.

there is a product called pig spit. you spray it on your engine, wipe off the chrome and it makes the engine look like new

For getting the white wax residue off black parts try a Mr Clean magic eraser.

DuPont™ Prep-Sol® 3919S™ Cleaning Solvent

High level autobody shops use it to remove all traces of wax from a car finish before they do any repair work or paint. Wax even in extremely minute amounts in NOT your friend if you're trying to paint something. There are also additives that can be put in the paint, but Prep-Sol is the up-front fix.

Pig Spit is my personal favorite as I said but silicone spray will work in a pinch.

I had that problem a few years back on my Sportster. I'd use mothers polish and it would get on the engine black where the chrome meets it. I remember using a military rifle tooth brush and some windex. I use McGuires quick deatil on the chrome now...no more abrassive cleaners.
