Default Parts That Fit Other Models

This could be a fun (and informative) thread. Post up parts you have found that fit other models or other purposes. I'll start.
  1. Sportster round brake caliper inserts are a perfect fit for V-Rod cam end-covers
  2. Shift linkage rods for Dynas with forward controls are a perfect fit for Softails with extended forward controls
  3. To add heel-toe shifting to your FXST(B/C), replace the inner shift arm w/ one intended for 96-06 FLST (Drag Specialties p/n DS530610)
  4. The chrome replacement AC cover bolt (H-D p/n 29600-00) makes a nice 1-piece replacement for the torx bolt and flat washer securing the Softail brake lever
  5. All big twin shift levers fit the same size spline shaft, but Sportster levers DON'T fit.
  6. EVO AC covers can be used on twin-cam Screamin Eagle or K&N filters with the addition of an extra gasket at the end of the filter. Sorry, I don't know the p/n, but you can get it from any dealer.
Anyone else?

the rear turn signal bar off a dresser will work on a softail fender. You just have to drill the mounting holes.

On 01 sporty, you can use the turn-brake-running light module that is listed for 04 and later sportys. You use the same plugs on the 01 so its no splicing done. Been on the wifes sporty for a year -no problems.

Her bike had some after market turn signals on it(very low visibility). Looking in accesory book, nothing listed in sportster section that really appealed to wife, go to the dyna section and there is a complete kit to convert from flat lense to bullet style and has 01 sportsters listed.

Harley used the same 4 speed trans from 1936-1948. Almost all parts will interchange with other parts of the same family and generation. ie. 1986-99 softail. Most front ends since 48 will interchange just check for proper length.

GM A set bearing outers are the same as the wheel bearings for Shovel FL's
Chevy 6 points are the same as HD points.

Awesome - keep 'em coming!

Just remembered that Cross Bones' floorboards and Night Train forward controls will interchange between models (probably others too).
