80 years and the doors close tomorrow for Reggie Pink
I feel sorry for Jason who's seen his grandfather's legacy come to an end. I've heard good things about Moroney's and I can tell you from experience that it's worth a trip to Bergen County HD. Best dealer there is in my experience.
Wow - I had heard they were going out but didn't realize it had happened already.
I bought my first new HD from Brewster HD - which sold the franchise to the folks from Danbury, I believe. I worked in White Plains at the time and would frequent Pink's for all my parts needs. Always got treated right. Still have a shirt somewhere.
Thanks for the memories...

I haven't purchased a bike from NewRoc but I have gone down to check out some rides from the demo truck and attend some events. Everyone has always been OK with me. The Service Manager is real cool and always real responsive. Again, never purchased a bike so I can't speak for that experience...
I've done business with Reggie Pinks for 30 years. Always great people. I will miss them. I also don't like the people over at NewRoc. I tried to buy a new streetglide there two years ago and didn't like the experience. Only reason I was there was it was a Sunday and Reggie's was closed. Went to Reggies on Tuesday and spoke with Jason. What a nice guy. He explained the Harley financing to me and explained that NewRoc marked up the Harley financing on the bike by 3%, they didn't and it resulted in over a hundred forty bucks savings per month on my note. Honesty...who would have thought it! It caught me by surprise!
I came home and there was a box from my brother and his wife in NY. Inside was a card and two shirts from Reggie Pink's, the card explained why we were being sent the shirts. It's a shame to see this place close, it was part of our childhood and the first H-D shop I ever went into, back in '65.
I put the blame on the factory for this. Strong-arming their dealers to upgrade their shops so they all looked the same back in the boom years. Toss in too many dealers added to their network and a slumping economy and bingo...lost dealerships.
Another piece of motorcycling history in NY goes away. Sadly, this will be repeated elsewhere in the years to come. Way to go, MoCo!!

Drove by and took a pic of the signs coming down. It was the closest to home but i was not a big fan. Moroneys in new windsor has been good to me for 5yrs. They give me a loaner when i bring my bike in for service which is good because it is 40 miles away.
Haven,t been on the forums for awhile. Went by Reggie Pink today. Real Sad empty building. Ther older building across the street would of been fine. The Motor Co. Made them put up the new larger building. Must of real big over head. I remember back in 1971 when there store was on Connor St & Boston Post Road in the Bronx NY. I went there with a Triumph Bonneville I was going buy tied to the tailgate of a 63 Chrysler station wagon. To have it checked out Reggie looked at it for me said it needed cables and other things. But he also told me the Numbers didnt look right. Thanks to him I might of got screwed. I will miss that store and all the folks that worked there. It may sound kinda wierd but when I drove there today and saw it closed and empty no Reggie Pink sign. It felt like someone or something Died. Guess im old and sentimental. Me and the Wife will miss them all.
