Does anyone ride with the front flipped up on these things? I am strongly considering one but would like to know if i ride with it flipped up if it will jerk my head off.

when I wear mine, it's too damn cold to have it flipped up. Otherwise I can't stand the thing.

I have and then bought a DOT 1/2. I like the modular for cold/rainy weather. I can lift the whole front to talk, et, and drink if necessary. MAKO

I have a flipup...I like it because I can flip it up to talk, take a drink, or smoke a cig without having to take it off. But they can be noisy because the wind blows through the seams. I would not ride with it flipped up at speed the flipup section is heavier then just a plexiglass face shield.

I've never ridden with mine up....well once when I forgot to close it and pulled out of the drive.....mine does not lock open, and when its up its looks like a parachute so I wouldn't even try it.

I think the new KBC modular (FFR??) locks open and I thought I read that it was designed so that it could be open while riding....not sure why a person would want to though...might as well wear a 3/4 or 1/2 in that case, they are a lot lighter.

I like mine, except the limited peripheral vision..that really bugs me.

They actually feel like a MX helmet with a visor, great helmet in the heat, easy use of a camelback.I'm sure I look like a dork but I'm happy.

I have a vega modular helmet, and It would catch too much wind with the chin part lifted up. I like it cause it helps keep my eyes from drying out after long rides, and I find it quieter, so I'm not as deaf when I get somewhere.

I have the A-F Mod. I have ridden with the lower section up. I just make sure that I close the plastic visor so it doesn't catch more air. I don't ride with it up that much but it is handy to flip up when you are wanting to talk or get a better view...But it hasn't pulled my head off, yet

You can ride with the chin bar up if it's at relatively slow speeds. Anything above about 35 mph and you really need to put the chin bar down or it'll yank your head back pretty hard. You can ride with the face shield up at higher speeds. But, at speeds above 55-60 mph, it's much easier if you don't have it all the way up. Just my opinion.

I rarely use mine. too stinkin' hot for that.

but I wouldn't recommend riding with it in the up position.
