Damn, I finally got a helmet I like and now they are flawed. I think I will keep mine. It is still the best helmet I have ever worn.

You can get an HCI for 35.00 or a Vega XTS for 60. Big difference from the 180 for a ACC.

Just an opinion (and one coming from a guy who wears a FF helmet on a Harley, so I'm obviously in the 'uncool' crowd by your standards). Value it what you paid for it, but I hope the cost isn't your life. /shrug
Never said that it was safe; only that it was better than a novelty. Never said it was cool either you read into that how you wanted to! Most of the time I wear a Shark Evoline so go ahead and develop your next pompous thought.

I did however strongly imply that just putting a helmet on your head is no way to conduct the protection level of a helmet.

I also think that all of this is bs. Why don't they make people who ride horses, Jet skis, etc wear helmets? We should have the choice!

Perhaps not in that post, but...

Certainly sounds like "looking cool" is a priority for you.

That's what I wear as well, and by wearing it you DID "make a choice", to be smart and safe. So props on that.

Here is the link for the test:

http://nhthqnwws111.odi.nhtsa.dot.go...40109-2008.pdf

Page 9 of the pdf file has the summary

I'm betting that the info that the novelty helmet only failed the Penetration test is flawed as well.

After looking at the results I'm not really sure that it is safer than a novelty:

I'll return mine and probably buy a DOT and a novelty for less than 1/2 of what I orignally paid.
