Right on man!

This has been argued before ... heel - toe shifting ... a wonderful thing.

Never can understand why anyone would remove the heel shift.

I had a heel toe shifter on a previous - read: non-Harley - bike. If you have big feet, as I do, it can be PITA. I had to consciously put my left foot farther forward each time I brought it up on the floor boards, or I would accidentally bump it into 2nd just after starting out. I know some swear by them, but I never quite got used to one.

Ahhhhh but while slamming down the heel shifter while upshifting you are accelerating the wear on the shift arm and shaft behind the inner primary....About 3 hrs labor plus parts...Transmission has to be unloaded to replace shift shaft.

Those heel -toe shifters are made for the really old geezers who can't life their left leg more than 2" off the ground.

Been a time or two when the bottom of my jeans got caught on the heel shifter. It's a nice extra to have but not a necessity imo. I removed mine cause I think simplier is better but don't hate on those that prefer using it.

If you are a fat old geezer riding an HD big touring couch (like me) removing the heel shifter just makes you look like a (bigger?) poser.

I could never get used to them, I adjust the shifter so I can just slide a toe under to up shift and swivel my foot over to down shift. Seems to work better for me plus it gives me more room to move my foot around without the heel part being on. Whatever flips your switch I guess.
