Baby gets new shoes.

Baby gets new shoes.
I probably could have gotten a few hundred more miles on the origional tires. But, now that the wife likes to go along I didn't want to take the chance of some worn tire induced accident. So, this afternoon I'm $550 poorer, but the bike rides like its on rails!
I stepped up from a 160 rear to a SE180. I gotta tell ya, the ride is unbelievable! Smooth, solid... I wish I had done it sooner.

$550.00??? How much was that SE 180? How many miles on the OEM tires? Sounds like one damn expensive piece of rubber, oh wait, it says Harley Davidson on it doesn't it? Just Kidding

congrats=====but that's a steep price. I've bought all out race tires for front and rear on crotch rockets for much cheaper. I havent' bought any for my deluxe yet; but wholesalers is the way I'm going

You're both right. It was expensive. Both tires together cost $293. Labor charges, $130. I also had new brake pads ($72)installed since everything was apart, anyway. Total, $552.49
I'm trying not to think a lot about the cost. At least its paid for and over with! That SE180 does look damn good on the rear of that Deuce though.
Oh, the SE180 was $192, front 21" was $101.95.
Mileage on the old tires was a little over 8,600. (I do like the twisties)
