Rush Slip-ons
#31
I have a set of 2.5 in. Rush slip-on`s on my Road King . My bike has a S/E race tuner and a S/E Ventilator air cleaner installed also. I remover the fiberglass packing to get more sound , put it on the puter , no additional tuning was needed . After running it for awhile like that , I decided I wanted more sound ( I love LOUD ) . LOL I pulled the baffles and had my local muffler shop remove the louvered section of pipe and weld in a straight section of pipe. They are quite loud ( my goal) and have a nice deep , hard hitting sound . Running with just the baffles out was too hollow and echoy . I again had the Dealership check it on the puter , No additional tuning was needed .
A friend of mine has a 2010 Road King with 2.0 in. Rush , has removed the packing , running a S/E Heavy Breather air cleaner , and has no tuner installed . After each upgrade he has had the Dealership put it on the puter , and has not had the need for a Tuner yet . We are both very close as far as performance , the 2 bikes were Dyno`d and are around 96 ft.lbs. of torque , and 97 hp.
I`m not recommending that anyone alter their baffles like I did , I just wanted to share what I did . If you do decide to try it ,, be prepared for a lot of Harley sound .
I`ve had mine for a little over a year and around 6k miles with absolutely no discoloration to the muffler anywhere .

the two's will set of car alarms when U nail it while driving by......

This is great, I as well have been looking at the Rush slip on's. From the sounds (no pun intended) of it, they are a good sounding set of pipes. I think this is what I am going with!

3" open slip ons S&S with adjustable dB killers. Based on the priciple of reflection they are very effective from 1400 rpm up till 4400 rpm. Deep rumble, good Harley sound and hardly no dampening at idle rpm. In the past I had to switch mufflers for a long ride. Nowadays I adjust the dB killers in a few seconds. I love the open slip-ons, the make a wonderfull sound. Especially when I can adjust the level of sound they make. And here in Europe the law is comparable with the coming 'California' law in sound levels of motorbikes. Especially Germany, Austria and France.

I have 'em on my EG Classic, with a 2.5 baffle & really like 'em. Go to a dealer on a nice Saturday morning & ask some people to fire up their bikes for you. Rush slip-ons are pretty common & you'll be able to hear for yourself.
