Default Choice?

Almost ready. If you had your choice, would you buy a 2006 or a 2007? How much would the difference in price have to be to drive you towards the 2006? If a 2006 Superglide custom price came in a little over a base 2007 Superglide, would you buy the 2006?
Thanks.
Mike

Buy what YOU want. I bought an 06 and even with all the 07 upgrades I am happy with what I bought!

If the 06 is a deal, I'd get it no question. If they were only hundreds different, the 07 would be the bargain. You are not getting a much faster bike w/the 07. May be better internal parts and a real overdrive, but that may not outweigh the new model problems of almost every vehicle made.

I may swap out some 06 parts for 07 (and later parts), but I like my 06 fine.

hey mike,
there can be some real sweet deals on the 06 models, getting them below msrp + the $1k in accessories. the 07's are pretty nice for sure, with the bigger engine, hp, etc and the 6 speed tranny but you sure won't find much movement on the price. i think it depends on how quick you want to make the move, the later you wait in the year the better the deals on the 06's will be cause they will be wanting to offload them. i think if i had a sweet deal on an 06 with some extra's thrown in i'd jump on it and never look back. just make the deal you can live with and go for it...good luck and let us know what ya did...

Unless you will save a ton of money, I'd go for the '07. For a few hundred dollars more you can have the latest.

I guess maybe I could be a little more clear on what I am thinking. I am ready to buy now but could wait a little longer. It's been 30 years since the last Superglide and a few more weeks or a couple of months is not going to make a difference right now. I thought I might be able to get the 06 SG Custom with a few unnecessary niceties for a little over what I would pay for an 07 basic glide. I don't have a great yearning for the extra chrome and all but deep in my heart I know I would like a little more shine. I could live without the chrome on the 07 but if I could get the snappy 06 for just a little more I thought I would spring for it. I was just thinking out loud and looking for other opinions that I don't really have to listen to but would add information to the decision making process. A third option is to get an 06 FXDI basic SG for less than the 07 and have the big bike for less than what I would pay for the 07.

#1. 06 basic FXDI for the least amount of money.
#2. 06 FXDCI custom for a little more than the 07FXDI. (and probably more than the 07 FXDI, but what I consider the mid-range choice)
#3. 07 FXDI basic SG.
