SPEECHLESS!

SOMEONE f*d up, and if the dealer wants to do the honorable thing then so be it. Otherwise they should be dropped like a hot rock. Could be an honest mistake, could also NOT be. The service writer could also say "yeah, we forgot to put xxx on your original bill, sorry", which is pure horse puckey. Interesting how you are all defensive about the business. Hmmmm...

you know the ole sayign Right?
I think no one added this charge on. I am sure that when the final invoice was printed it went to an accountant or Cashier and was totaled and handed to the 16 yr old delivering the bike. Like I said the Service Write probably does nto know it was their. You could probably walk in and go to the service writer and say "I could not believe I had a bill for 5 bucks after the troubles I went through with my bike in your service department. I was so excited ot get my bike back then I was handed a bill for 5 bucks form the delivery guy. Can you believe that?" The hservice writeer would take it look at it and say DONT WORRY ABOUT IT........ It is probably an honest mistake ( although someone that totaled does not see it that way)that you are being billed for it.

I'd point it out to the store manager, pay the fin, and never do business with them again. The one that tacked that on is the REAL loser, low-life POS. There are plenty of other dealers out there, and many are high-quality. I never let businesses get a 2nd chance at screwing me over.

In cases like these, I definately bring it up to someones attention. I realize that there are folks in every business that aren't worth the time it takes to talk to them, but I make sure to form relationships with folks from each functional area of the business. I go chat with them for a few even when I come in to pickup whatever widget. Then, when problems like these arise, it is a simple "hey, what do you think about this"? I think in this case, they would let the $5 go. One things for sure, the cut my nose to spite my face attitude, a.k.a. going to another dealer on a whim, is not the best reaction unless you have been there and spoken with someone about the $5 and they have told you, you owe it and we don't care. Then I would leave.

There is a reason that thijng slike this happen. If the employees had the sense of business, then a business of there own would make sense.
There are two types of people in the world employees, and employers. Sometimes you cannot expect employer type mentality from employees

I'd probably be a little mad about the 5 bucks and the delay too. But,
I have to agree that the credit card thing is low. If you really felt you
were wronged, be up front about it. No one respects the behind the back
stuff. Before firing the dealer, I'd take a look at the whole picture.

We have a winner ! Well said Dynamite.Besides that,as much as I can see why the guy's pis*d off,I'd at least call the dealer and ask WTF the additional charge was for before ragging about it on an internet forum.

I agree with Dynamite. I try to get to know someone well in about every department. That way if someone starts messing with me I can run it up the flag pole.
My $0.02 is that you should first ask about the charge. If it is reasonable... pay it and continue to do business there. If it is unreasonable... pay it and go elsewhere.
My dealership is a BIG dealership too... And I bought my service up front and that put me on the "Preferred Customer" list. I get treated pretty well. I do know that people that are not on the list get PO'd because they get bumped sometimes by Preffered people.
What was the part that was getting replaced anyway? Anything that made the bike unrideable? I did not notice what it was.
Here is my two cents. All greybeards information leads me to believe this dealership is doing more business then they can handle. It is funny watching OCC fight over parts not ordered and quickly throw a bike together. I don't believe I will bring my scoot there for maintenance. I would appreciate name of the dealership, you never know.
Now I feel I have to reply to vegashd. I don't know who you hang out with, but I don't think I have ever met a biker who hasn't done or said something out of there **** holes. It seems to go with the territory, ask anyone that knows me. I don't think it right that you tell anyone they are not welcome on this site. I think that is the moderators job. No hard feelings.
