Just wondering..
Ok, so as I start planning for winter prep I had a thought. I have seen models sit on the dealer floor for months. So do they leave the tanks empty or full. If empty does that mean bike leaves the factory and goes straight to the dealer without ever being started? I know the used bikes on the floor have been run so I wonder how they handle them vs the new ones. Since its new do they just leave the battery and let whoever buys it deal with the drain?
Just started thinking about how careful we are about all the right things vs what they are actually doing.

They test run the engines in the factory, before they are put in a bike.
Most dealers roll the bikes on to the showroom floor without any fuel or in them, some may not even have oil in them yet. They will put fuel (hopefully a full tank) and oil and take the bike on a short test ride before delivering it to the customer.
It should take months for a battery to drain or fuel to go bad. They probably leave them in and deal with it if the bike sits for months.

All the new Harleys at my dealer are prepped out of crate, full tank of fuel and roadtested for about 5 miles. I forgot to add we give them a MD state inspection too. That's every new and used bike that comes through the shop.
