run the engine for half an hour to keep the fuel lines clean every few weeks?...doubt that fuel additive is available locally....oh,and keep the fuel tank full to stop rust inside.

No, the fuel in the tank will go stale by spring and start to varnish. You need to find some fuel stabilizer or drain the tank and run the carb. dry. Check auto parts stores and marine (boat) stores for the stabilizer.

A simpler solution: Get out there and ride the thing .

OK, so this weekend might be a wash out, but I am sure there will be plenty of days in North Yorkshire between now and spring time when the weather will be good enough to ride.

Tommo,

I had the same problem with trying to find fuel stabiliser. Halfords hadn't even heard of it. In the end a quick search on eBay and there were quite a few people selling it in the UK either in tablet form or liquid.

One ride a month of at least 15 miles is all that's needed. Have never winterized mine since 1984

I don't have a battery tender, but I've gotta figure out how to install the "pigtail" harness to hookup my heated gloves.

I'm not sure where all of these wires are gonna go, but the forecast for tomorrow is rain all day, so I figure, it's a garage day.

Sorry, didn't mean to steal the thread

SP, pop the left side cover off and connect the positive connector to the Pos. on the battery and neg connector to the chassis ground near the starter. Its a smart play to put No-ox or some other high dielectric grease on the connections to keep air and moisture from causing corrosion in the connection.
