I have toyed with the idea of a softail before. My brother in law has a great springer ST that I ride sometimes, and it's a great bike, but I can't get used to the balanced engine. It feels like I'm riding a scooter or something. Then I get back on my FXD and I realize how much I like the rumble of the rubber mounted engine. It's more agile, and feels like it's a lot faster too. The touring bikes are nice, but just too over the top for me.

I could see myself on a vintage Harley in the future though...

I kinda am, I have 2 Sportsters and love them both. They fit me well, easy to ride and the power is good. I love most HD's and would love the have a 2007-2009 Nighttrain or a newer SG for the long rides, but over all I love my Sportys.

Ive enjoyed every bike Ive ever owned. 10 or so, in my lifetime. Most of em seem to fit my need/s at the time. I loved my Fatboy. Had it for 10yrs. Sold it, & bought a Road King last year. Wow... My RK of course, aint as nimble as the Fatboy was but, after getting adjusted to the RK, I wish I'd a made the switch years earlier. After putting a few thousand miles on my RK, & getting it tweaked the way I wanted, I could never go back to another model, unless of course I was to keep the RK. I doubt it'll be my last bike but, Im sure to have it for a long time. I think once you get used to a bagger, if that's your thing..... it would be real difficult to have anything else, unless, that anything else is a 2nd or additional scoot.

I'm not model-loyal or even brand-loyal. I've owned many bikes of different makes over the years, and will continue that practice. I currently own a Harley and a Yamaha. One of them will probably go this year to make room for something else, that something else being whatever bike I become excited about. In the end, I am, and have always been, a motorcycle rider, not simply a Harley rider.

I'll always own a touring HD, I suppose but I would like a hot street bob for around town!

Just need a bike that fits our needs..

So far the Heritage has been perfect, rides great, handles great and has plenty of storage for our riding style.

Love the looks is the topper.
