i do consider myself a good rider....i am constantly going "what if?" i am fully aware of what is going on around me at all times. do not use intercom, radio, or gps. i do like to ride a little faster than the general traffic flow--so i don't have people coming up behind and passing me all the time. knock on wood...been riding since '72 and never been involved in an accident.

I am as safe as pssible. It doesnt hinder my fun at all. Watch out for all of it and act before it happens. Be safe!

I never drink and drive, I rarely ride at night and I try to be off the road when I know the cages are drinking.

Malvinspooner... Your safety message would have more impact if your avatar wasn't a photo of you riding down the highway without a helmet.

This is exactly why I quoted some ideas would conflict just because support freedom of choice and exercise it without a Helmet sometimes, does not mean I don't ride safe ..

I got the the part where it said "half" instead of "have" to put the kickstand down and gave up.

I really don't think about it that much. I guess I ride my bike about like I drive a car or a Semi when I'm working.

If I was as paranoid as a lot of people on this forum are about riding, I probably would just stop. I can't imagine it being much fun to be scared all the time.

Agreed. I ride without a helmet sometimes too, but as an instructor, when I teach a safety class, I utilize safety gear. I just got a chuckle out of the irony.

Nothing like a brand new poster coming on the HDForums to "cleverly" push his investment website selling books he's written, in his very first post.

Good Point Smoke perhaps topic should have ride well .. 40+ years riding here, 1 accident no fault of my own although learned to Expect the Unexpected which I think should be #1 Riders Rule ..
