Riding Alone
#11
Probably 90% or my riding is alone, sometimes with a destination in mind, sometimes not. I like being able to keep my own schedule, go when I want, stop when I want. When I was younger, I rode far and fast. Now that I'm older, I ride slower and stop more often. It doesn't matter.

Go by myself quite a bit, especially if I can get out of work early and just head out for a ride. Nice to not have to wait for other people, stop when you want where you want, easier when there is only 1 person making the decisions.

Almost all of my riding is solo. I love not having to comprimise. I have ridden with a couple of groups and was a little uncomfortable because I had to pay attention to the guys in front of me and I couldn't back off too much. It felt like I was in a traffic jam the whole ride.

Solo for me. I find group riding very stressful. Most of the time the lead guy thinks everyone has to keep up with him weaving in and out of traffic and all that crap. No thanks.

I commute 80 miles round trip on the bike whenever possible. Just me, my bike and 1000 cagers trying to kill me. But, no matter how heavy the traffic or how many times I have to come to a complete stop on the highway, I love my alone time on the bike.

Nearly all of my riding is alone. I usually have a destination, but not always. It really clears my head. Groups are ok, but I really have to pay attention, plus I feel like I gotta put my safety in someone elses hands. I don't like that. I also don't like to ride as a passenger in cars either.

+1 on solo.
Groups are more about socializing than riding. Stopping at bars or restaurants and chatting. Posing, smoking cigars to look cool. I'd rather cover some distance and get somewhere I haven't seen before, or ride a road that I don't often see. I'm more into that than the group thing.
