Default Passing on the Right? WTF!

Was on a two lane today and I went by a young kid on crotch rocket on a side road. Not long after that I see him coming up along my right side and I'm thinking , OK we're going to ride a few miles together.

All of the sudden I glance back and he's accelerating around my right side. That move wasn't in any rules of the road book I've read. I just considered the source and let it go. Funny thing is we ended up side by side at 3 or 4 lights and each time he was ripping off the line. To be young and indestructible again, NOT!

Passing you on the right is not cool with me...but if he passed you on the right, how did you end up 'side by side' at the next couple lights? If he pulled up to the light first.....just hang back. Light turns green, let'em go.
Problem solved.

Reminds me of Darwinism.

So, let's hope he lives long enough to gain the wisdom required of a good rider, and a toast to me (and all of us for that matter) that I/we survived all the stupid things I/we have done in my/our life

Lane sharing. Pass on the right if no room (or double yellow) to pass on the left?

Why didn't you stop and see if he needed assistance.

+1 Pretty sure slower traffic is suppose to be in the right lane.

On a two lane road(as stated in his post), the only lane there is is the right lane. So he was in the right lane and the crotch rocket passed him on the right by splitting the one lane. Stupid, dangerous move by the crotch rocket rider.

Your thinking of a 4 lane road, OP was on a 2 lane, one each direction.
