Oil consumption
#23
If your bike is blowing oil out the dipstick it's because you didn't wipe all the oil off the rubber part, and the inside of the hole where it goes in the tank.
If the rubber seal is wet with oil it allows a path for oil to blow out of the tank with very little pressure.
Wipe down both those places every time you check the oil and you won't have that problem.

Check your oil after the ride while it's hot, keep the level about a half inch from full. The idea about keeping the sealing area clean and dry is a good one.

Glad that is working out for you Kevin...Right now the owners manual is your best friend...Read it cover to cover...I am amazed at the people that won't bother to read it...there is a lot of good info in it...Do not try to over maintain your oil level as you will learn at what oil level the bike likes to run...Ride it and enjoy it.
