Harley York Factory Tour
OK, Gearing up for a week long ride in and around Gettysburg PA. This will be my first long trip on my new Limited. I see that the Harley Factory in York offers a free tour....I'm assuming it would be worth my while to check it out? Also, are there any other points of interest around the Gettysburg area that I need to check out? TIA...

Be sure to get to the factory early as the tours tend to fill up quickly.
Ride over to Lancaster, PA and check out the Straussburg Railroad & the PA Train Museum. Plenty of good food served in that area as well.

I took the factory tour in November and really enjoyed it. I wouldve liked the tour to last longer and to see more but I understand they have alot of people to get through there. It was interesting seeing the assembly line and how the right parts are supposed to get on the right bikes. Im sure you will enjoy the tour.

LOTS of changes at the York plant this past year.
When I went on the tour last year I was told that all the softtail, cvo, and touring construction would be consolidated to one facility. When I went it was only baggers.

shows that they are running a modified tour through the month of July. MON-THURS only.
If you go please take time to post write-up! You will be one of the first to see the new factory!

Things to see in Gettysburg?!?!
Are you kidding?
Uh, yeah! If you're a history or civil war buff, there's tons to see!
Gettysburg was only one of the most costly (in terms of lives lost) and pivotal battles of the war between the states.
The tour of York plant is really cool too.
If you do find that you've run out of things to do and see, hop on Rt97 southbound. This will lead you, via the back roads, directly into Washington, D.C.. There's no end of interesting things to see there.
